Winter Celebration Week

We had a lot of fun, singing and dancing this week!  A big thank you to Mrs. Buonomo and Mrs. Fraser for teaching the learners such an amazing variety of songs and dances for our special winter celebration week.  The children loved sharing their songs with you.  They also really enjoyed watching the other classes perform.  It created such an awesome feeling of community for our learners this week to share their performances with each other.

The past couple of days have gone by so very quickly.  Some learning highlights for our class, we enjoyed getting together with our grade 3 buddies and continuing our work to become stronger, more confident readers.  We have enjoyed reading a variety of stories together.  One of the stories we read this week was the classic fairy tale of the Gingerbread  Boy.  The learners enjoyed choral reading this story together as a class.  We also read The Gingerbread Teacher.   We really enjoyed comparing how both stories were alike, and contrasting how they were also different.  The learners also completed a guided drawing of the Gingerbread Teacher.

Please enjoy some pictures of our learning.

Just a heads up, I am also sending home the student's indoor shoes today.  They are all growing so much over the past few months. If you can kindly take a quick peak at them over break and make sure their shoes still fit that would be great.  Please return their indoor shoes to school on January 8th.

Thank you all so very much for your help and support.  I have enjoyed watching all the children grow and learn so much over the past few months.  I look forward to having more learning adventures with all the students in 2018.

Wishing you and your family a joyful holiday season and a very happy New Year.  See you in 2018!

Warm Regards,
Mrs. Lai
