The learners are always thrilled to see and work with their grade 3 buddies. On Friday, we were excited to explore some new activities in the Maker Space area with our big buddies. We were also excited to have Flex Friday and fun lunch ! It was a very fun and busy day of learning, cooperating and working together. Please enjoy some pictures of our learning.
Just a friendly reminder, students can buy popcorn for snack on Wednesday & Thursday. Please send in a toonie for popcorn day.
And most important of all, Wednesday February 28 is Pink T-Shirt Day. We are encouraging all of the learners to wear pink to raise awareness about bullying.
Have a great night!
Warm Regards,
Mrs. Lai

Library and Home Reading Books
Hi Parents,
I just wanted to send a big thank you, for taking the time each day to read with your child at home each night. Reading home reading and library books is so very important. 20 minutes of reading with your child every single day, really does have a huge impact on their learning.
Please encourage your child to read every day. All types of reading, reading independently, reading to someone, or being read to, can help your child become a better reader!
Tomorrow we are going to the library. Please ensure your child returns their library and home reading books to school tomorrow, so that they are able to bring home new books to read with you.
The learners have been working really hard on learning the Fry's First 100 words. It has been so exciting to see their growth so far. Some of the learners have mastered all 100 words, some of the learners have only a few left to master, and some of the learners continue to work hard on learning these important words. New flash cards will be coming home with some of the students this week who need some extra help learning these important words. Please help the learners review these words at home each day. Mastering the Fry's First 100 words really helps the learners improve their reading. Thank you for your help and support.
Here is also a link you can follow to print off flash cards for your child.

Leighton Art Centre
The learners were thrilled to have an artist from the Leighton Art Centre come into our classroom last week. We learned about the human figure and sketching techniques. We focused on symmetry and using proportion to create realistic sketches in our notebooks. The learners then created their own expressive wire sculpture of a person. Please enjoy some pictures of our learning.

Mrs. Lai
